A. Perry invests for the future

A UK family-owned and run business, A. Perry has invested GB£3.5 million (€4.1 million) in a new facility, which includes a two storey office space for a call centre and administration, two large manufacturing units, and an 8,400m2 purpose equipped warehouse and distribution centre.

A Perry & Co (Hinges) Limited was established in 1925 by Arthur Perry, in the heart of England’s historic West Midlands industrial area. The business started as a manufacturer of hinges and gutter brackets and continues to be run by fourth generation family members.
Employing more than eighty people, A. Perry manufactures products including all special threaded bar. It states that it is the largest supplier and manufacturer of hinges, ironmongery, threaded bar, fasteners and fixings, and chain, in the UK – supplying customers around the world.
The company has enjoyed continuing growth in recent years, significantly increasing its number of customers due to the depth of its product range and justifiable reputation for quality and service. Over the last 5 years, the continued growth of the company had put increasing demands on the site it had owned and operated for over sixty years in Cradley Heath. A new site for its investment and expansion was found literally next door.

“While others in the market place are showing concern at this time of economic uncertainty… our confidence is high as we continue to grow and invest for the future,” commented Guy Perry, managing director at A. Perry.
“Our state of the art distribution centre will dramatically improve dispatch services to UK and overseas customers and… our capacity has increased to in excess of 14,000 pallet locations. It is incredibly exciting to be expanding, creating new opportunities and continuing to be a part of the community around our factory.”
“The new site was planned to be future proofed to meet our continuing growth”, added Guy Perry, “but the continuing level of growth we are experiencing is, even at this early stage, making us look at ways we can expand the manufacturing and warehousing”.
