Wind industry satisfied after successful on-site show 24 November 2021

Around 8,500 trade visitors flocked to HUSUM Wind 2021 in September with it being one of the industry’s first major on-site trade fairs in 2021.

The wind industry’s flagship fair, HUSUM Wind took place in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, and covered 20,000m2 of exhibition space. 387 exhibitors from Germany and abroad presented the current performance status of the wind industry along the value chain. OEMs showed their new onshore product portfolios and innovative products – from bolt-check systems to robotics and drone technology to augmented reality Apps for wind farm planning – all of which celebrated their premiere at the fair.

HUSUM Wind has always been a strong sales platform characterised by practical relevance and a high-level of technical expertise. This year’s trend topics at the fair were new value creation through wind energy and green hydrogen, domestic markets, skilled workers, service and sector coupling.

“With this fair, the industry has shown that it is ready to move forward for the energy turnaround,” sums up Klaus Liermann, head of the fair. “It took courage and commitment on the part of the companies in mid-June to go along with the decision to do the fair. Since day one there has been an exuberant spirit of optimism, the safety precautions are taking effect, business is booming.”

Matthias Zelinger, managing director of VDMA Power Systems and head of the Competence Center Climate & Energy, added: “The fair exceeded our expectations under the given circumstances. We are very pleased that HUSUM Wind was able to take place as a presence event and are convinced that HUSUM was able to send out important signals and messages for wind energy and climate protection in the run-up to the federal election.”

The fair took place under comprehensive security conditions, which included a one-way system, test stations, compliance with AHA and GGG rules, and check-in at the stands via Luca App.

The next HUSUM Wind will take place in September 2023.
