China extends anti-dumping on EU fasteners 13 July 2016

According to Chinese state media agency Xinhua, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOC) announced on Tuesday 28th June that it would extend anti-dumping duties on certain iron or steel fasteners imported from the EU for a further five years.

Anti-dumping duties, ranging from 6.1% to 26%, on imports of certain iron or steel fasteners from the EU were first imposed on 29th June 2010.
When the first five year period ended last June, the MOC reopened the investigation following a request from domestic industry players.
The ministry ruled that termination of the anti-dumping measures might result in continued dumping of fasteners from the EU. Xinhua says the MOC thus decided, following a one year investigation, that the anti-dumping duties will continue for another five years commencing 29th June 2016.
