ESKA brings new warm former into operation 30 June 2017

German automotive parts cold forming experts ESKA Group has brought a new SACMA SP570C WF150 warm former into operation.

ESKA says it is now able to process materials that are not suitable for massive forming at ambient temperature. These materials include, for example, high-carbon, highly heat resistant materials, as well as stainless steels, magnesium alloys, powder-metallurgy aluminium materials, plus titanium and nickel alloys.
The new forming press features inductive wire preheating up to 900°C and thermo-regulation of press tools. It also has an integrated CO2 fire extinguishing system. Wire feed is by servo motors with a wire pullback function. The six stage heading machine has a press force of 3,600kN, and processes wire diameter up to 27mm, with a maximum cut-off length 160mm, at up to 130 strokes per minute.
ESKA Automotive GmbH is 100% owned by Boltun Group. In 2015 it generated sales of close to €85 million, and employed approximately 400 people. The Group produces in two German locations – Chemnitz, which is its headquarters, and Bärenstein.
