K&K expands into the USA 05 February 2016

Keller & Kalmbach GmbH (K&K) has bought Infinity Fasteners Inc, based in Kansas, USA, providing the basis for the fastener and customised supply concept specialist to serve industrial customers in the United States.

The purchase agreement was signed on 3rd November 2015 and the US distributor, which was founded in 1990, now belongs to the Keller & Kalmbach Group.

Speaking about the importance of internationality as a growth engine, Dr Florian Seidl, CEO of Keller & Kalmbach, said: “We are following our corporate strategy with the move into the United States in order to continue to grow internationally. The US market is very attractive for us and has great potential.”

“The company’s customers in the industrial and automotive industry, as well as the transportation sector, are internationally positioned. On-site management services are becoming increasingly more important here. The acquisition of Infinity Fasteners is an important milestone in the 137 year history of the family business.”

“Infinity Fasteners has an excellent reputation in the US for fast and efficient troubleshooting, which is a perfect match for us,” added Seidl, pleased with the company’s growth. K&K now has its own branch representation on three continents.

Infinity Fasteners employs a total of 35 employees at locations in Lenexa, Kansas; Fresno, California; Piqua, Ohio; and Omaha, Nebraska. It services more than 2,000 customers nationwide, many through the provision of Vendor Managed Inventory Systems. In fiscal 2015, Infinity Fasteners sales will amount to approximately US$15 million (13.7 million euros).

An experienced management team will be retained in the business. Skip Freeman, CEO and president of Infinity Fasteners, has been with the company for two years and brings over 25 years experience in supply chain management. At his side is Vice-President Steve Hengeli who has over 30 years of market experience and is the co-founder of Infinity Fasteners.

Founded in 1878 in Munich, Germany, K&K is a leading provider of fasteners and fastening technology, additional supplying a wide range of hand and power tools, chemical technical products, lifting equipment, workshop equipment, occupational safety, as well as special and drawing parts. The C-parts management specialist also offer innovative logistics concepts and tailored solutions to the automotive industry, transportation sector, industrial companies and craftsman’s businesses. The company employs approximately 700 people at twenty locations in Germany and abroad. In fiscal 2014, K&K generated sales of 250 million euros.
