New generation of Marposs devices 27 December 2022

Marposs Group has developed a new generation of devices that can meet the demand for process data and interfaces to higher level systems, such as ERP or MES, giving customers further options for analysing their process data.

Marposs has worked closely with the fastener sector for several years and is able to provide a variety of quality and process control solutions. “Our focus in development is on the digitalisation of the forming process,” reports Joachim Krüger, head of sales forming division at Marposs Monitoring Solutions GmbH. “This data should be made easily accessible and can be evaluated and analysed with suitable tools.”

Marposs has been focused on digitalisation for a number of years, with its customers now accustomed to using tools to analyse their process data and thus improve the quality and stability of their production. “Through this analysis possibility, long-term examinations can be made and conclusions can be drawn about tool wear,” points out Joachim. “The exchange of data via interfaces such as MQTT and OPCUA is also increasingly requested by customers and machine manufacturers. Through our Brankamp monitoring units we are able to offer the appropriate solutions as standard in this area.”

Despite the Covid-19 pandemic Marposs’ fastener customers have still been investing in new machines and monitoring equipment. “The topic of networking and data exchange is currently at the forefront of many producers’ minds and we are in demand as a central interface to other systems,” mentions Joachim. “With most of our customers we maintain a partnership relationship over many years. This helps us to get the feedback we need for new developments, directly, because we are in constant exchange. By doing this we can provide our customers with the best possible monitoring at the machine and evaluation of the data through further digitalisation solutions and MES software.”
