CPM to showcase forging software 30 March 2016

German-based CPM Gesellschaft für Computeranwendung, Prozeß- und Materialtechnik mbH works in research, technical consulting, and software development, in the area of forging and will present its capabilities to visitors at wire® 2016.

Software products that will be on display at the show include eesy-2-form, eesy-form and eesy-DieOpt. eesy-2-form is a 2D FEA simulation system, which CPM mentions is easy to handle and has proved its reliability in industrial application for more than 16 years all around the world. The latest developments for eesy-2-form relate to tool ware, product failure detection and microstructure analysis for modern materials.

eesy-form is the 3D add on to eesy-2-form, which has been in use for more than 15 years in the cold and hot forging industries. The latest developments involve tools analysis, as well as machine set-up, which includes complex systems using hydraulic cushions and advanced post-processing. At the show CPM will present examples of eesy-form in operation using industrial production.

Also on display will be eesy-DieOpt – an established system for design and optimistion of tool layouts using multi-ring pre-stressing systems. CPM will show and explain in detail how such a system can be used together with process simulation to optimise tooling properties and tool life.
