Faster, higher, stronger with BASS threading technology 31 March 2016

The machining of internal threads is a real challenge within the fastener industry. It doesn’t matter if the threading tool is supposed to be used in cold or hot formed steel – its geometry and tolerance has to be selected in accordance with existing operating conditions.

Being a specialist in this field, BASS GmbH & Co KG is able to offer many new and innovative solutions for the machining of internal threads, which it will be showcasing at wire® 2016 in Hall 15, stand H15.

BASS points out that its state of the art coating allows for faster cutting speed during tapping and thread forming, which in turn helps to reduce the processing time in the machining of components.

Also, in the case of larger dimensions over 24mm, the roll tap and forming tool DURAMAX is predestined to meet the requirements for a process reliable and chipless machining. By continuously developing, BASS has succeeded in enlarging the scope of applications up to a dimension of M64 x 6.

Besides the classical use of machine and roll taps in the reversing tapping process, BASS also offers solutions for the run-over tapping process. With its AMGB V for the fully automatic tapping of nuts, BASS offers a three part system – combining three high-quality BASS tools into one. The precisely manufactured cartridge connects the tap nip with the bent shank. This ensures that the shank part and cutting tool can still be used in case of high torque and breakage as a result of wear.

With the AMGB V, the cartridge and the shank, customers can flexibly respond to individual processing needs in terms of form and execution.
