Ingramatic: Leading with new solutions 21 May 2015

Ingramatic SpA, the leading Italian company for designing and manufacturing thread rolling machines, has announced that with the support of parent company SACMA Group, it is creating a manufacturing division inside its plant in Castelnuovo Scrivia – helping to further enhance its assembly and supply of components.

Ingramatic explains that the investment will be in milling centres and grinding machines to enable the company to provide parts in a shorter time for the customisation of the machines.
Ingramatic’s well known ‘I-Thread’ line provides many innovative features, such as the motorisation of the die match, the patented starter unit driven by servomotors and the ability of the self-learning adjustment of the starter fingers.
Ingramatic points out that it is the first and only company in the world to incorporate this solution for its whole range of thread rollers. The top quality components and the perfect assembly by Ingramatic allows fastener manufacturers to obtain the best results from quick changeovers and easy set-up for the operators.
Production flexibility is essential for today’s fastener markets. Ingramatic recognises the importance of producing highly specialised machines according to customers’ needs and strategies and has introduced several innovative solutions, such as:
RP220: In 2015 Ingramatic will introduce its new W10/TR2 thread rolling machine featuring compact design, motorised die match and single starter unit driven by servomotor. This machine will be the most advanced thread rolling machine for the manufacturing of screws from M3 to M8, and is available with all the Ingramatic modular solutions, single or dual washer assembly units, and the VP unit for feeding and rolling headless screws and studs. In common with all Ingramatics, the automatic loading system called ‘Porter unit’ is available for customers looking for a complete and automatic cell.
RP420-TR: To support customers looking for high-quality engine bolts, Ingramatic has designed a model called ‘Touch-rolling’ in order to clean and/or pass second time parts that have already been threaded to assure perfect thread quality. Since the ‘Touch-rolling’ machines are typically installed between a sorting machine and a packaging machine, this solution ensures customers will receive parts without thread damage or dirt in the thread.
RP420-WR: To complement the SACMA warm former line, Ingramatic introduced Warm Rolling machines. Combining the heavy-duty design and features of the I-Thread, the WR provides a significant increase in thread quality, productivity and efficiency by rolling all shapes of bolts, screws, studs and parts made of materials difficult to roll, such as Waspaloy®, titanium alloy, A286 and Inconel. The machine’s features include WR feeding rails for the installation of an induction coil, a generator, a chiller, an inverter box, an optical pyrometer, and a cooled stationary die holder.
A set of selectors manage the parts through the induction coil to ensure the parts are consistently rolled at the correct temperature. Ingramatic says that its Warm Rollers provide quick changeover making it ideal for small lot sizes in the aerospace fastener market.
RP720: The new W50 machine will be introduced in 2015, replacing the popular RP72-L. The machine will be equipped with the double starter unit driven by servomotors and the revolutionary self-learning adjustments of the starter fingers. The RP720 is stronger thanks to its brand new exclusive design and reinforced bed frame. Starting from the RP520 and upwards, Ingramatic has installed a system of hydrostatic slide liners – optimised for a high load capacity providing significant damping of the rolling load from automotive bolts threaded after heat treatment and parts rolled from exotic materials. Pressurised lubrication is fed to special bronze liners through a distributor to allow the hydrostatic pockets to create an oil film, equally distributing the rolling load and the absorption of the high forces generated during the rolling of the part between the dies. Also available is the RP720-R1 featuring a new washer assembly unit with quick change over and up sized for the assembly of very large washers.
Washer assembly unit: For the most demanding users, the standalone washer assembly unit (WAU) is now available with a quick changeover system. The WAU can be installed on all existing Ingramatic thread rolling machines and many other makes. The WAU consists of a sturdy base, adjustable feeding rails, washer vibratory bowl feeding system, one set of tools for washer, washer assembly station, end rails for the connection with the threader and a touch screen control panel.
“The Ingramatic team will be pleased to welcome you at Castelnuovo Scrivia to see our unique show room and to present in detail the technical characteristics and features of Ingramatic’s family of machines. We hope to see you soon.”
