Keep your production under control 15 February 2019

Marposs is exhibiting its extensive product line of monitoring, control and measurement units for cold forming at this year’s Fastener Fair Stuttgart. The main focal point is the FactoryNET 4.0 software suite that functions as a powerful interface between machine, operator, production, and resource planning, and higher-level ERP systems.

Unlike other data acquisition systems, FactoryNET 4.0 enables end-to-end documentation of the processes, which results from interconnecting directly with process monitoring.

With another new development, now even systems without process monitoring like automatic sorters, hardening furnaces, or packaging machines, can be included in the data acquisition and integrated in the FactoryNET 4.0 information loop as a result. The T1 terminal can be connected to the FactoryNET 4.0 by network interface. The respective orders and quantities are downloaded to the terminal. Stop codes are entered and on reaching the order quantity the system is stopped.

The innovative Brankamp X-series has also been upgraded with several new innovative features. The X7 now makes it possible to capture several machines with one process monitoring system; the X5 system has a new user handling, which is fully controlled by RFID chips; and the X3’s systems are upgraded by the Toolmatic feature, which enables an automatic transfer of tool numbers from the plc to the X3’s monitoring unit.

In addition to the Brankamp in-process monitoring systems, Marposs is also presenting the Optoflash at the Fastener Fair – an exceptionally fast optical measurement system that takes 100 static component measurements in two seconds. The Optoflash is the first optical measurement system in the world that can measure components up to 300mm long at this accuracy using fixed 2D image sensors. From multiple cascaded cameras, the sectional views of the workpiece measured are fit together for an overall view without breaks or gaps.

Besides the Brankamp X-series and Optoflash, Marposs is also showing Aeroel laser systems for real time diameter and ovality measurement, offering effective instruments for wire drawers to enhance the process efficiency and the wire quality.
