The future is electric direct drive technology 16 March 2016

Nedschroef Herentals N.V has invested considerable resources, with great success, in the development of electric direct drive modules for its range of formers, which combine state of the art electric direct drive technology with ultra-efficient mechanical kinematics – hence the name Nedform Hybrid.

Nedschroef’s hybrid technology makes independent and efficient programming of key process parameters in any position of the main slide possible, resulting in new forming capabilities. As a result of the optimal balance between machine forging load, energy, tool geometry, as well as kick-out length, each Nedform Hybrid type can produce a wide range of complex parts and high-quality fasteners.

To add to this, Nedschroef has introduced its latest development – the servo electric driven multi station cold former – which it says is unique in the industry and will bring a veritable revolution in cold forming. This is due to the superior servo technology compared to conventional mechanical machines, as well as the innovative machine concept making forming easier and more efficient.

The benefits of the NC former are repeatability and accuracy in manufacturing, high productivity, great production flexibility, and new forming possibilities. Furthermore, due to the simple operation of the machine, it will reduce the skill level required of the operator and will result in less human errors. Also, thanks to the standard green features, energy consumption is reduced and the machine is practically wear free due to the direct drive transmission of power.

“During the show visitors will be able to discover our latest developments by live demonstrations of the Nedform Hybrid NH625 (25mm diameter, 6 die), as well as the fully servo electric driven NC714 (16mm diameter, 7 die). We look forward to welcoming you to Hall 15, stand A06.”
