New STR Wrench launched 14 February 2023

Atlas Copco has introduced a new production wrench, the STR Wrench, which ensures high-quality tightening, first time, with high accuracy and clear operator feedback. The tool has been designed with a new durable body, though it remains a modular and universal system with many applications.

The STR Wrench has been developed in response to new technologies, production processes and critical applications, which all require more accurate torque and angle delivery. That is why the new electronic STR Wrench offers a system suited for such applications and most critical joints. Any tightening issues in those specific applications can lead to consequences in final user safety, so reliability throughout the tightening process equates to final product reliability too.

In addition, the STR Wrench has been optimised in its design and dimensions to make it compact, short and easier to use in hard to reach areas. The new controls also enable easy use  thanks to the new rotating smartHEAD and the tool’s colour display is always visible – providing clear feedback to the user. The wrench works in connected mode via a PF6000 controller or with a new integrated controller.

According to Branislav Pittner, product manager quality assurance at Atlas Copco Slovakia: “When torque accuracy matters, the STR Wrench provides ‘best in class’ precision, enhanced flexibility in production and reliably tightened joints.”
